I have been thinking about the greatest money monster of all time...the devil. He is a hard driving monster and when he is at his very charismatic and pressure inducing worst self, he has me, you, working hard. Forget about the purpose, the reason for your work or as many are saying these days, the big WHY for what you do and he, the monster I am calling the devil, will have us chasing money out of need, greed, self aggrandizement, the thrill, fill in your own fixation reasons here. Work work, money money, these are the thought whips he uses to drive us to doing for the sake of things. Hard work pays off and it is a socially accepted belief that the pay off is cash. As I write I feel the never ending cycle, the push for hard work, hand held out for the payoff, the trap of continually being driven. This is to deny the true need we all have to live into our own uniqueness, my own, your own abilities to serve others FOR THE SAKE of their betterment. Payment for services rendered is an even exchange, commensurate with what you gave and what the other(s) got. Hard work must become Heart Work and than payment becomes a reward, rather than a cash in hand triumphant win. The devil is the driving voice that never shuts up, the Heart leads and when I/you follow, need disappears.
