Who do you work for?

What and who are you working for?  Oh the trap of self absorption, the what I will get out of this deal, dilemma. Working for money is kinda of a strange concept when you think about it?  It's the boss that never looks you in the eye and says good job, well done, let's do this again tomorrow!  There are two people that come to mind that are amazing competent hard working employees and their biggest heart ache is the cruelty with which their employers treat human beings for the sake of making more money~the lack of appreciation for their hard work is painful for them and they have both come to realize that a pat on the back with an atta girl/boy, will never come. They both get pay checks and yet somehow, they are clearly NOT working for money. I read once that one of the main reasons for quiting a place of employment was that the values of the company did not align with the values of the employee, regardless of the rate of pay.  Working for someone appears to be the gem in the equation along with a sense of satisfaction that your work is well done AND appreciated, acknowledged. I work for clients...what and who do you work for?
